mHUB Chief of Staff


mHUB is seeking to bring on a high-performing chief of staff to support the organization’s rapid scale-up and champion mHUB’s internal processes, culture, and values. We are seeking an individual that has previous experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and possesses strong people, leadership, and operational skills with demonstrated success in building high-performance organizations. The role offers a wide range of professional experiences across early-stage entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, venture capital, real estate, and economic development.

Position Summary

The chief of staff is responsible for the support and execution of the Chief Executive Officer’s strategic plan and related priorities both in terms of providing strategic guidance and driving/supporting the implementation of key initiatives. This is an internal- and- external-facing role that will drive future growth and operational efficiency across mHUB’s three business units – the non-profit incubator, outsourced R&D consultancy, and accelerator and venture fund – and will support new initiatives to expand resources for DEI and other community engagement programming. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of mHUB and Managing Partner of the Product Impact Fund and will provide additional direct support to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Experience Officer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with CEO and org leadership to help teams work together more effectively through better processes and documentation (e.g., working cross-functionally to develop a more robust template for project briefs)
  • Drive an active calendar of internal & customer communications including team touchpoints, town halls/all hands, skip level, customer, and partner engagements
  • Responsible for project risk, financial, and issue monitoring -- including weekly tracking, communication, and escalation
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials for CEO to use internally and externally, including Board materials
  • Draft and manage project timelines, objectives, and deliverables for key projects
  • Compile and edit research-based briefing materials for key meetings, projects, and thought leadership
  • Work on special projects with the CEO (e.g., building a business case to inform decisions to pursue potential new projects)
  • Draft business communications on behalf of the CEO
  • Serve as a day-to-day manager to the Executive Assistant to the CEO
  • Drive organizational health & employee engagement strategy and programs
  • Identify and coordinate cross-functional requirements/interdependencies of projects with teams
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as responsibilities dictate

  • Team-first professionalism with a passion for fostering a culture of efficiency and high performance while driving results, strategic outcomes, and operational accountability and improvements
  • Strong written skills and ability to be effective in communications based on relevant audiences both internally and externally

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Business Administration, Public Policy, or Economics preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience required
  • Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, client relation, data management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong technical proficiency in MS Office products: Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt voice to meet that of the organization and CEO
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in a fast-changing environment with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Passion for interacting in a positive and creative manner with customers, team members, and developing partners
  • Bias towards action and keeping processes simple
  • Detail-oriented with analytical problem-solving skills
